[Today, a well-dressed man with a lovely black boa is gracing your screen, network. He's lounging in a PokeCenter near a window. The sun's just about to finish its descent, so it's practically night time. Apparently someone's about to turn in after a day full of training! Maybe...?]
Ah, there we are. Hello.
I've only been here for a little under a week, and I simply must ask...has anyone else here been dealing with a large difference in technology from their own world?
[He begins to play with a Pokeball in between the fingers of his free hand.]
You see, I am a doctor, and I've found that many of my healing techniques have been rendered useless because of the difference in technology here. However, there seems to be a machine that heals the monsters in a similar fashion... [Suddenly a frown crosses his face.] Unfortunately, the nurses here were reluctant to to divulge how it works.
[He shakes his head, pretty disappointed about it.]
A pity, that. I certainly hope we humans aren't being put on the back burner when it comes to healthcare. I'll have to look into it further.
But I digress. Please, feel free to tell me your technology woes. If you happen to have more information about healthcare in this world, feel free to bring that up as well. I would be very interested to hear about it.
[He gives a small half-bow from his resting position, and before ending the feed...]
Do have a good night.
[Private to the Rocket frequency]
[The boa-clad man appears again, this time in a location more familiar to members of Team Rocket: a dreary and nondescript dorm room in the base. He's propped himself up against a table in the dorm room, smirking softly into the camera.]
Good evening. I've been here long enough that I believe a proper introduction is in order.
My name is Rideaux. As you may have seen on my entry earlier, I am a doctor. I also have plenty of field experience, though I cannot say I'm very used to relying solely on others to fight for me.
[He's referring to his Pokemon, which can be seen in the background beside his bed. The Zangoose and Houndour don't look overly pleased but they're not miserable or anything.]
Aside from an introduction, I'm addressing you with a question. Does anyone have any idea how we are here? Since I am well aware that I am not the only one who was whisked from my own world to this one; I've discussed this with a couple other members but haven't found any useful information thus far.
I'm not complaining about it—trust me, this is an improvement to an extent, and whoever did this had good taste for choosing to use my services—but I'm curious how it was done.
[Much like he did in his previous video, he gives that little bow. But this time he flashes a sort of sinister smirk into the camera.]
That said...ultimately, I look forward to working with you all. I do hope this organization is as fun as it sounds.

A pleasure to meet you, Dr Rideaux.
[Might as well be polite. There's a good chance he could be as crazy as...
...
...well, as crazy as him and Dist, so.]
My name is Dr Kato; I'm a Researcher in the Science Department. I can't help you with your main question - no one around here has any idea how we got here - but I might be able to assist with any others that you have.
Welcome to Team Rocket.
[private Rocket video]
The lack of answers is another matter, but part of him wasn't getting his hopes up. Realistically, it would put the higher-ups at a disadvantage if they casually told everyone how they were brought here.]
The welcome is appreciated, Doctor. Since you offered, what can you tell me about the Science Department? I'll likely end up spending some time with you.
[You guys better actually have proper tools down there.]
[private Rocket video]
[Shifting his chair, Kato centers himself properly in front of the camera and links his fingers together.]
Obviously, we're the brains of the team - our main focus is the development and provision of the technology that the field agents use. There are a number of departments, dedicated to different things - I work for R&D, in Division D, with my partner, Dist. He's the head of the division.
[Behind Kato's head, a Lunatone appears, slowly beginning to rotate curiously in front of the camera.]
With your qualifications, you might be more suited to the biological side of things...there's plenty of things to play with, depending on your tastes.
[If you've been brought into Team Rocket, after all, there's a good chance that you're not the typical sort of doctor...]
Provided that is what you want to pursue, of course.
[private Rocket video]
Well, you've done a fine job of piquing my interest. I'll have to come down there and see what there is to work with, once my training period is complete.
[Ugh, this training period is such a waste of time, too. They must profile the people they intend to bring here, so they should be well aware that he doesn't need it!
SIGH, oh well.]
And just what sort of work do you do? R&D can mean a variety of things.
[May as well collect information on his colleagues while they're here...]
[private Rocket video]
[Welp, brace yourself, Rideaux, because Kato's grinning now.]
I work on the development of weapons; specifically, explosives. My current project revolves around transferring the energy of Pokemon into my bombs, to increase their power and destructive capabilities. I then supply them to our field agents, for whatever nefarious deeds they require them for.
[Laughing softly to himself, Kato leans back in his chair and links his fingers together, like he thinks he's an Evangelion character.]
My partner - Dist - works more on the biological side of things. One of his projects involved coating Pokemon with metal, to make them more durable.
Needless to say, we have fun.

video;
I'll say! They don't have half the things here like they do over in London and that's as advanced as ya get, I should think! At least where I'm from, anyhow. Nearly gave myself a heart attack when I first started usin' the 'Gear.
video;
I take it this London of yours is a major city. Where I lived was very similar; almost all of the country's technology is produced there.
Though I can't help but wonder, what is considered advanced in your London if it doesn't have something so basic as a networking device like this?
video;
[Ha.]
There's phones, too, but only nobles and the like have those sorta things. For the rest a us, it's letters and good fashioned gossip that spreads news along and makes friends.
video;
[No seriously. But at least plumbing's a thing...? How disgusting that would be, otherwise.]

I'd say the largest different is the weather, however.
text
Why do you say that?
text
After speaking with a few people, it seems like it's something unique to Cloudbank but back there we used to decide everything that happened to the city by vote. From what structures should be built and how, to our weather. The people would vote on what they wanted, and the administrators of the city would have it happen. It was all by technology.

How is your city able to manipulate the weather, if you know?

[It's not very often Team Rocket gets an actual medical doctor. Usually it's more the whole holds a doctorate in some form of horrible destruction type of doctor. Which Cobra finds nice as well, but this is certainly a welcome surprise.]
Unfortunately, it's unlikely you'll receive any anssswer to your quesssstion. The mechanics of how a person arrives here are sssstill very much a myssstery.
[Rocket Video]
I promise you won't be disappointed by my services. I am quite famous for my vast amount of medical techniques in my world.
[He'll just casually not mention he can't use a lot of them right now, because that's not the point!
The actual answer to his question disappoints him a bit, though.]
What a pity, but I suppose it can't be helped. Just out of curiosity, how long has this mystery persisted?
[Rocket Video]
[He thinks for a moment to make sure that's right.]
Yessss, I'd ssssay that's an accurate number. Sssso I wouldn't expect an explanation any time soon.
[Rocket Video]
Four years?
[It's said with less contempt and more mild surprise. So people have been here for at least that long with no signs of an answer as to how they got here. That's...really something.]
Well I'm not about to lose any sleep over not knowing. Something to consider in the future, I suppose.
By the way, who might you be?

[ROCKET... FILTER]
[...this is probably not the sort of person you were expecting from the Rocket Filter, but here she is nonetheless. And... because she is not terribly observant she completely misses anything sinister about that whatsoever!]
Anyway, I actually showed up here while I was worldhopping, but I hear that isn't typical so I don't know? I might just be a special case, though!
And man, tell me about all this crazy tech! Actually, it might be more crazy where you're from...? I don't even know. I never even saw anything like this where I was from!
[rocket filter] Cynthia you sweet summer child
Something crosses Rideaux's expression when she brings up worldhopping. Surprise, mostly? But before it can be fully detected, it's gone, and he regains that fairly neutral composure.]
Worldhopping, you say? And what does that entail aside from the obvious, if you don't mind my asking?
[He crosses his arms and drums his fingers a bit.]
It's somewhat of a downgrade for me. The technology I used daily doesn't seem to exist in this world, but I've seen plenty of other familiar pieces, such as the PokeGear, and like I said in my post, the healing machines in the Pokemon Centers.
[rocket filter] hey she's not a summer child she's a late spring child!!
Well, I've heard that you might be able to go to a certain place to do it... but for the really complicated stuff, we needed to get help from a goddess! I have no idea how it's going to turn out because... haha, I got interrupted. But I think I'm going to see if I ever get sent home!
...and wow, that must be some pretty complicated stuff! What all does it... do, exactly? The stuff you had back home but isn't actually here. I mean, this Pokegear thing and the stuff in the Pokemon Centers already blows my mind, so I guess I'd better steel myself!
[rocket filter] I was so close...
I'm familiar with the overall concept, but I didn't expect to hear about it from someone else here. Someone who was already performing it in their own world, at least. We've all technically hopped worlds at this point.
[He decides to remain quiet on his real thoughts on the matter for now.]
Imagine what the machines at the Pokemon Centers do, but a human using that directly on another human or monster. It's called an arte, and we perform artes using a device called Spyrix. They help us perform a variety of artes, using the elements of our world. The one I described is a healing arte; I am trained in various healing arte techniques.
Though without Spyrix, my abilities are limited somewhat.
[He doesn't look too pleased about it. He wants to be able to perform at max capabilities, darn it!]

video;
The Pokemon center does what it can when it comes to medical facilities for Pokemon but I've had a little trouble trying to find somewhere out of Goldenrod that specializes in treating humans.
Sadly, I've been trying to take it upon myself to provide some form of healthcare for humans but there's only so much Airi and I can do by ourselves when volunteering at the Centers at the cities we stop at.
video;
But Rideaux's not going to comment on that bit. He's more taken off guard by something else.]
Is that right? This seems like such a large region; I can't imagine how many people would be inconvenienced if they fell ill and needed to travel all the way to one city to receive treatment.
It doesn't make any sense. Is human illness not a common occurrence in this world?
video;
It doesn't look that common. There's a significant difference in how many people we treat versus the number of Pokemon that come in. And even then, it's usually been situational at best: My mawile bit me or my charmander accidentally burned my hand.
It's pretty surprising. Either that or we've just been lucky.
video;
I understand an increased traffic of injured monsters, considering the pressure to pit them against each other in battle, but the absence of illness in humans is so strange...
[And doesn't bode well. It's hard to compete with Pokemon Centers as a healer for Pokemon, especially since the Centers are free.]
Would you say you get enough patients to justify it as a means of sufficient income?
