[action for the Goldenrod Rocket Base]

[Anyone currently at the training grounds in the Goldenrod base during the afternoon may be startled by a yell of pain ringing through the area. Depending on your timing, finding the source of it may also result in seeing Rideaux angrily kick a tiny Deino across the field as he holds his left hand.]

Why you little--!

[He glares hatefully at the little dinosaur-looking Dragon type as it recovers from the kick, staggering to its feet. It immediately begins to charge in the direction it heard that voice. Rideaux isn't having any of that.]

Pin it down, Slasher!

[Slasher would be his Zangoose, who seems to have been present while Rideaux attempted to train this Deino. He nods, rushing over to intercept the Deino on its path. With a swift movement, he slams the Deino to the ground, pinning both its torso and head so it can't try to snap at him.

Rideaux closes in, still holding onto his hand- while it's not too visible since his current gloves are red, there's a big stain of blood seeping through the fabric where his own Pokemon bit him. He crouches over the Pokemon, gritting his teeth like he's doing his best to hold back his rage.]

This is completely unacceptable. I didn't take you under my wing to deal with this!

[And it just goes on like this, with Rideaux attempting to train this damn dragon without it trying to bite him.

...so yeah, walking in at any time to Rideaux yelling at his blind dragon is a safe bet. At least until he gives up for the day.]

[While Rideaux is never the cheeriest person when on camera, he at least appears pleasant enough. Today however is a completely different story. He's located at a desk in a nondescript room, slipping on his gloves at the moment the 'Gear starts recording. Bandages adorn one of his hands, and he looks pretty damn pissed off about it as he hastily slides the glove on to cover it.]

I have a bit of a dilemma. Does anyone here have any advice for dealing with a blind monster? Admittedly this is a new venture for me, and I suppose I wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it truly is. My monster, it...

[He's trying hard to hide the disgusted scowl that's formed on his face, but failing at it.]

...seems to enjoy relentlessly biting everything in its general vicinity. And while that's fine for battle, it doesn't do much good when it can't see its opponent and bites its trainer instead. I obtained this monster because I was intrigued by its final stage of evolution, but this is a bit ridiculous.

[He goes to tighten his hand into a fist and immediately regrets that action. Okay yeah, there is no hiding the obvious disdain here.]

If anyone who has owned a Deino has discovered an effective way to get it to listen without taking any sound as a cue to attack, I would appreciate hearing it. That goes for the person who sold me this egg as well.

[This is why you listen to breeders, Rideaux.]

[Now that he has all of his equipment ready for the upcoming mission, Kato has decided to head over to the training grounds and run his Pokemon through some final training drills. It's been a while since he's gone and trained them properly; he usually manages at least one hard session a week, but the past week or so has been consumed by scientific tests and production of his prototype recovery collars. Clearly, this means he needs to make up for lost time.

He's just entered the room, ready to send out Hydra, when he spots the...interesting training methods that one of the grunts seems to be utilizing on-

...wait a minute, isn't that Dr Rideaux? And that's a...

...ah. Oh, this'll be interesting.

Placing his hands in his pockets, Kato wanders over to where the good doctor and his two Pokemon are currently scuffling, not bothering to keep his amusement off his face or out of his voice.]

Having some trouble with the new addition, Doctor?

[As usual, his Lunatone is hovering around his head, peering curiously down at Slasher and his new friend.]

Ah, so the child takes after its mother. I feel as though I should apologize for that.

[For a man who should be apologizing, he doesn't seem that sorry.]

I've found that hatching while surrounded by Pokémon thirty levels stronger can convince young Deinos to restrain their impulses temporarily, but it's not exactly a situation you'd want to find yourself in.

Ah...well, perhaps setting up playdates with a better-behaved blind pokemon might help...?

[ monkey see monkey do, without the seeing. ]

That's how they see. If you want it to stop biting, teach it to find its way around some other way.

[A Hydreigon butts its head in over the unimpressed face of the young white haired girl, glaring at the screen as though Rideaux has somehow personally offended it.]

That's how I taught Hydra here. Touch worked well for him. Guiding him around by his nose was a little tedious at first, but it worked out.

Kinda comes with the territory. If they don't bite, they headbutt, and neither one's a fun option to deal with.

[He was lucky enough to have a timid Deino, but he knows that's not exactly the norm. So, he'll shrug, casting a glance off camera real quick.]

Good news is, once it's a Hydreigon, it'll stop being blind altogether. You just gotta be patient.
